Presentations - 2 Oct 24

At our fellowship evening on 2nd October, our Club had dinner at a local Thai restaurant, Lime Leaves. It was a lovely evening, great food, great company, several awards, and unfortunately, farewell to a member.

President Keith outlined all that Andrea Grosvenor, Past DG, had packed into her nine years of membership in our club. In that time, Andrea has been Secretary, President, Area Governor, District Governor, and has been actively involved in RAMS with trips to Timor Leste and much more. There has been no standing still !

On behalf of the club, Keith presented Andrea with her ‘Ruby’ PHF as well as a Certificate of Service. Congratulations and thank you Andrea. All members wished Andrea and Guy all the best for their new life in the ‘City of Churches’.

In keeping with the motto ‘Service above Self’, President Keith also presented awards to recognise 25 years of membership of Rotary International by P.P. Kristin Ballard PHF* and 20 years by P.P. Rod See PHF. Congratulations to two of our longest serving members!

RCQ Changeover 2024-25

Wednesday 26th June was our Changeover night at the RSL Memorial Bowling Club in Queanbeyan, and it was a lovely evening. We had many guests, including Honorary Members, Father Michael from St Benedict's, local Police Officers, Bunnings Fyshwick staff members, the General Manager of the RSL Memorial Bowling Club, and and of course, many partners of our members.

During the course of the evening, a new Club Honorary member was created (Bill Hoare), with several Paul Harris Fellow awards, a couple of certificates handed out, and fund disbursements totalling approximately $26,000 were announced. All of this whilst partaking of wonderful company and amazing food provided by the new chef at the Club, Victor.

Did you know...?

We have more than one type of Membership!

We would love to welcome new, full, Members, but if you don't think you have enough time to commit to regular activities, or perhaps are not financially well-placed to cover the annual fees, then there is a solution: become a "Friend of Rotary".

Friends of Rotary are able to:

  • attend any meetings or Fellowship activities;

  • participate in activities and projects

  • will receive weekly emails advising of upcoming events as they come up.

So, if you are interested, please contact us soon!

Welcome to our new member Tracy

On 27 September 2023, Tracy was formally inducted into our club. Tracy was wholeheartedly welcomed by all members of the club.

Tracy had already proven herself to be a huge asset to our club, working Market BBQ's, the Floriade Gnomes in September 2023, and, later on, the 2023 Queanbeyan Show Gates.

The photo shows Tracy with President Rod at our dinner venue, the Queanbeyan RSL Memorial Bowling Club.
